Allopathy Vs Homeopathy, Discuss

"Medicine is a science of uncertainty and an art of probability "-William Osler

We live in the 21st century and our human race has seen several advancements and innovations in many branches for human existence such as Communication, Transport, and Agriculture and so on. In the same way medical field has also seen several transformations and new inventions in mainstream as well as alternative medical practices. This leads to the dilemma of following Allopathy or Homeopathy among common people. Let me present my views regarding both Allopathy and Homeopathy below.

Starting with the orthodox medical practice i.e., ALLOPATHY, the term was coined in 1810 by Sir. Samuel Hahnemann who is actually the originator of homeopathy. The term Allopathy is of Greek origin and was used to differentiate the mainstream medicine from the alternate medicine. Allopathy is also referred as western medicine, modern medicine and so on. Allopathy means "Other than the disease ". Homeopaths considered this as "Opposites treats opposite "and was believed to be harmful to patients. Allopathic treatment includes the usage of drugs and involves surgery.

"Modern allopathic medicine is the only major science stuck in the pre - Einstein era "-Charlotte Gerson The alternate medicine commonly known as HOMEOPATHY was founded by Sir. Samuel Hahnemann in 1796 based on his doctrine of "Like cures like". Homeopathy was also referred to as heroic medicine. The homeopathic treatment involves diluting a chosen substance in alcohol and distilled water i.e., diluted and successes form of a substance.

"Homeopathy is the latest and refined method of treating patients economically and non-violently ". - Mahatma Gandhi

Allopathy refers to the principle of curing diseases by administering substances that produce other symptoms than the symptoms produced by the disease while Homeopathic medicine produces the same symptoms as that of the disease i.e., consumption of the medicine in an undiluted and unsuccessed form can induce the disease in a healthy individual. Allopathic medicine (Drugs) does not usually cure but suppress and change the way the body functions. It covers up the condition instead of curing it while Homeopathic medicine cures the disease from the root of illness. In general, Allopathy acts on the disease while Homeopathy acts on the cause of the disease.

The major drawback of allopathic medicine is the side effects caused by the drug which even causes death sometimes while Homeopathic medicine has little or no side effects. The major demerit of Homeopathy is that it is a little time consuming since it acts on the root of the disease but allopathic medicine is fast and gives almost instant relief.

According to me, both Allopathy and Homeopathy have merits and demerits. For the complete cure of a disease Homeopathy can be considered as a better way but during emergency situations such as an accident, we cannot expect homeopathy for immediate help. In those cases, Allopathy gives a better hand.

"Every coin has two sides ".
People should be given basic information about both Allopathy and Homeopathy for choosing the better treatment. I would like to insist that our food and our daily activities are the cause of all ease and disease. Following a proper diet, plenty of water, a small regular exercise, playing, music, and most importantly a good sleep can PREVENT all diseases because

"Prevention is always better than cure ".
