However, other venues of the examinations for the center Bengalooroo will remain unchanged.

Competition panel hiring on fast track, to bypass UPSC

New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India, which was recently accorded statutory powers, is all set to start hiring to go after anti-competitive practices in the country.
It will start by recruiting 120 staffers, half of whom will include professionals such as lawyers and financial analysts. To speed up the process, the hiring will not be routed through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and the commission also plans to offer higher remuneration to attract talent.

A National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) survey conducted in 20 states in 2005 found that while six out of 10 students in Bihar’s classrooms are intelligent enough that they could understand what they were taught. In states like Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Chhattisgarh the number did not even cross five out of 10 children.

Law Minister writes to UPSC on complaints of "irregularities"

With many civil services aspirants alleging irregularities in UPSC exams, Minister of State for Law K Venkatapathy wrote to the commission's chairman to look into the matter and help candidates whose career prospects are at stake. UPSC cancels Prelims exam for Pub Ad.

The UPSC on 16th May cancelled the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination for Public Administration held last month following discrepancy in tallying of number of question papers at one of the examination centres. A re-examination for the subject would be conducted on June 18, an official release said in New Delhi.
