Should all terrorists caught red handed on camera, be hanged without trial

The fedayeen Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was caught on camera at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, comes into one's mind when reading this. It is obvious that everyone would ask, 'why waste time and energy in investigating a convict, why not punish him, at once he is caught?'

The Government cannot take a decision emotionally as people do. It has to abide by the law. Our nation is a democratic republic which greatly respects the fundamental human rights. Whoever he/she may be, all are equal before law.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Similarly, hanging a terrorist, who is beyond reasonable doubt, cannot settle the problem. It wouldn't be that tough for a nation with the second largest human force to hang a terrorist without trial.

Trial is necessary because only then the real truth about terrorists will come into limelight. The people would come to know about the terrorist and how he came into this disgraceful life. When we come to know about the case of Kasab, it was known that he was unaware of the Jihad – the name given by the heartless killers for the war they wage against the innocent humans. He also added that he would be given money if he joins the militant group (brainwash). It was also said that it was his maiden attempt after training. What is the use of this? The media will spread this information to every nook and corner of the nation. Thereby the rural people and the uneducated will be aware that they should give their life into the wrong hands.

The modus operandi followed by the terrorists and the other illegal activists are really too cleverly planned to trace them. Prediction is really difficult, especially if it is about the future. The Security personnel cannot waste their time in predicting their mode of operation without a direction. It is this investigation that assists them to predict the future problems that might occur and prevent such mishaps. The investigatory report made about the assassination of the Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi brought into attention about the suicide bombers even to the common man.

Besides, it would also help the Government to know the culprits and the traitors in the nation. There is no nation without a betrayer. These guilty parties cannot be identified unless otherwise they are betrayed by someone who has turned against him to save his own life.

In my opinion, there should be a trial though a terrorist is caught red handed. It is not that terrorists are treated with a soft corner, they will be punished but abide by the law, which is highly respected in our nation. India is never wrong in making decisions. Proud to be an Indian who respects every life, mera bharat mahan!
