Terrorism in India is a World Problem.

September 9th, 2001 left the world in shock as the world mourned over the deaths of thousands of innocent people of different nationalities. Continuing to quench its thirst for pain and suffering; terrorism was yet again felt on November 26th, 2008 in Mumbai, the commercial capital of India.

The innovation that the terrorists incorporate today for their glory achieved through sacrificing their life for jihad has only made us wonder about when it would be our time to be laid waste by them.

Starting from the 9/11 attack in the United States to the serial bomb blasts that rocked London, from the attacks (though minor) just preceding the Olympics in China to the Marriott attack in Pakistan, the entire world is facing this problem in one way or the other.

Tackling terrorism is turning out to be on the high priority list of almost all the countries as they are slowly grasping on the realization that their country could be the next target. The attack on Mumbai has been a wake-up call for most countries, which have already started to take various measures to ensure that no such tragedy occurs in their country. These attacks have had such a severe effect on the rest of the world as this terror game in Mumbai was so strategically planned that it succeeding in stunning the world.

The aim of these attacks was to ensure an economic slowdown of the country and that is probably the sole reason for choosing Mumbai. The attacks on Mumbai not only served as a way to hamper the tourism trade in India but also to warn all the economies of the world that are en route to becoming the next superpower.

Choosing Nariman point as one of the centers of the Mumbai attacks was not a mere coincidence as it was done to target the Jews who were the residing in Nariman house at the time of the attacks. This obviously was planned against Israel which has for decades been in the hit list of these terrorists.

Many experts are of the view that whatever attack is planned in India serves as a indication about what might be forthcoming in the United States. For example, following the Kandhar plane hijack case, 9/11 took place. This might be a indication of the worst that might be yet to come in the US.

Also these attacks have affected a lot people from other nationalities like the United Kingdom. This rightly proves that though these attacks took place on Indian soils, the effects often spread far and wide. It had such adverse effects that Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the United Kingdom made some very condemning remarks concerning Pakistan, a prime suspect behind the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Although the relationship between India and Pakistan has never been on good terms, the effects of these attacks have been so severe that the current relationship has become much worse.

Looking at all the above factors it won't be wrong to say that the terrorist attacks in Mumbai is not a problem of India alone but of the whole world. Every bullet that was shot; it was done so against humanity. And it's high time we realize this and bury the hatchet with old foes as we all unite in this war against terror.
