What should be done with film stars and politicians found guilty of rape/murder/terrorism?
Varun Gandhi, the prodigal grandson?
India is a land of cultural heritage. Each state in India has its own language, culture and customs. Our constitution also allows us to practice any culture and customs of our choice. This diversity in our culture helps us to produce more films than any other countries in the world.
Due to the social advancement of our society, our people are exposed to all type of linguistic films. Each and every good movie, no matter in which language they are made is viewed by almost all the people of our country. This makes some of our actors as national icons. Politicians on the other hand are elected by the people for a fixed term. They are expected to do their work in the best interest of the people. They are also expected to do their work transparently. Hence these people have huge responsibility in building the country.
The private and public life of these dignitaries will always be under the watchful eyes of media and the common man. Some people may even emulate them in every aspect of their life. So these actors or politicians would be more responsible for their act in the society than any other people around them. Even a slight miss conduct by them in the society would be high lightened by the media in a very huge fashion and due to this there may be rampage in the society by their followers. So they should conduct themselves wisely towards the society. If they fail to do so and become a criminal, they should be punished as per the law. These people should not be spared due to their national icon status. In fact they should be ceased from acting in future movies or standing in future elections. This would make others in their respective professions to act responsibly towards the society. It also leaves a positive influence on the society. If they are allowed to continue their work after the completion of their punishment, people will forget them as criminals and again raise them towards national icon status.
We all should remember that our constitution treats each one of us equally, irrespective of his/her status in the society. Our judicial system is also same for each one of us. Conviction of a perpetrator and awarding him/her a punishment would also be done according to the law. So, one should be able to differentiate between reel life person and a real life person before idolizing him/her. We should always idealize a person who practices good principles in his real life.
